Quinn Ewers has praised Steve Sarkisian, who has developed one of the deepest quarterback rooms in the nation currently. With talent powerhouses like Arch Manning, Ewers and Trey Owens, Texas will be heading into the 2024 college football season with confidence after their successful run last year.

Sarkisan had a bit of a rocky start to his tenure, as Texas struggled in the first couple of years; however, he was able to turn things around in 2023 and finished the season with an overall 12-2 record.

In the upcoming season, Texas will be starting with Quinn Ewers as their quarterback, who is returning for his fourth year, which was a shock for many, as they expected him to declare for the 2024 NFL draft.

During the 2024 SEC Media Days, Quinn Ewers talked about the value of learning from Steve Sarkisian:

"It's like getting a PhD in quarterback being under coach. You know, he's been, you know, he's been a coordinator for Pete Carroll, and he's been a coordinator for Nick Saban, so he knows what it's like to lead teams, and he's seen those two great leaders lead teams to national championships.
"So he knows, he knows what it's supposed to look like, and he knows what the standard supposed to look like. Having him in the quarterback room and having him as my head coach, he played coach ball. He did a great job at BYU. So he's been there. He's seen it all"

Quinn Ewers opens up about relationship with Arch Manning

When it comes to Texas, there's a lot of outside noise and external factors surrounding them due to their quarterback competition in the locker room.

Owing to his famous last name, there was a lot of excitement when Arch Manning committed to Steve Sarkisian's Texas, and people were waiting for him to take the stage after the 2023 season.

However, Quinn Ewers decided to return for another year, which means Manning will be the backup quarterback this year too.

Both fans and analysts were expecting Manning to enter the transfer portal and move to a program where he would have more playing opportunities. But he has made his intentions to stick to the process at Texas very clear time and time again.

In a conversation with former NFL star Robert Griffin III, Quinn Ewers talked about his relationship with Arch Manning and how he handles the chatter surrounding them:

"I think we're really intense competitors. And we all want the same outcome.
"But at the end of the day, I think I think we're better humans. And I think we're better people. And I think that we really enjoy each other's company in that quarterback room." (18:40)
