Deion Sanders is backing Colorado Buffaloes star Travis Hunter in his bid for the Heisman Trophy. The versatile player had another standout moment during Colorado's win over UCF, where he made a spectacular leaping interception and struck a Heisman pose after their 48-21 victory.
Earlier this week, Hunter had the eighth-best odds for the Heisman, according to the Coloradoan. Coach Prime couldn't be prouder.
βItβs who he is man, itβs who he is,β Sanders said [H/t On3]. βThe guy works his butt off at practice. Thatβs why nobody trips when he gets Sunday, Monday, Tuesday off. Nobody trips. Nobody say nothing.β

βBecause if they would, I would say, βWell, if you do what he does. You get that off too.β Itβs just that simple, with 100-some snaps a game, and he never tires. Heβs just, heβs that kind of kid, and I canβt wait to see him continuously play.β

Prime Time wished they couldβve kept Hunterβs 100-yard streak alive.
βI mean I wish to God, the game was in a way that we could have got it and kept going with his 100-yard mark, even though he donβt care,β Sanders added.
Hunterβs performance included nine catches for 89 yards and a touchdown, along with two solo tackles and an interception.
Deion Sanders believes Hunter has what it takes to bring home the prestigious award.
What's next for Deion Sanders and Colorado?

After five straight weeks of action, the Buffaloes get a breather next weekend. Then, on Oct. 12, theyβll host No. 23 Kansas State, kicking off a series of four winnable Big 12 games. They'll face Kansas State, Arizona, Cincinnati, and Texas Techβteams that offer a great chance for Colorado to build momentum.
The end of the season looks tougher, though, with matchups against Utah, Kansas, and Oklahoma State. Utah and Oklahoma State are known for their physical play, but the Cowboys have struggled recently, dropping two straight games.
The good news? Colorado has two open dates in the next six weeks. That gives Coach Prime and his team extra time to rest, practice, and fine-tune their strategy. By the time they finish the Texas Tech game on Nov. 9, weβll have a clear sense of where this team is headed and if a bowl game is within reach.
