Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders is one of the biggest prospects in college football. He has been an important part of the Buffaloes' success this season. Every week, he hosts a podcast where he brings on new guests to talk about football and react to different events in the sports world.
This week, he had freshman offensive lineman Cash Cleveland on the podcast. The two discussed the No. 5 Texas' decision to replace quarterback Quinn Ewers with backup Arch Manning against the No. 2 Georgia. Here is what Sanders had to say about Texas' decision:
"I mean, Arch is still young, so he has a lot of time to grow, and a lot of time for him to succeed I would say. I think for Quinn, the only difference was they were trying to change it up, you know, just a little bit to get a little spark going, and I feel like they were going to go back to Quinn anyways."
"I just think it's tough putting Arch in that situation. Especially, you know there's not momentum on your side. So, it's a hard thing to ask a young quarterback to do."
The decision to remove Ewers from the game came in the second quarter after Georgia kicked a field goal to take a 20-0 lead. Arch Manning then went into the game for Texas' final two drives of the first half.
On the first drive, Texas only progressed 23 yards up the field on six plays before punting. The second drive did not go any better. The play ended after five plays and Manning fumbled the ball this time after getting sacked. As a result, Georgia was able to score a field goal to get a 23-0 lead at the half.
Shedeur Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes host Cincinnati on Saturday
Shedeur Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes are coming off a bounce-back 34-7 win over the Arizona Wildcats. The win came after the Buffaloes lost 31-28 last week to the No. 16 Kansas State. Colorado will continue its push to win the Big 12 on Saturday against Arizona.
Sanders and Colorado sit tied with Kansas State, Texas Tech and Cincinnati with a 3-1 in-conference record. They are all behind BYU and Iowa State with 4-0 in-conference records. Unfortunately for the Buffaloes, they do not have a game against either team in front of them, so they must win as many games as possible if they want to catch them.
