"It was tough situations that he was put in": Shedeur Sanders makes his feelings known after his conversation with Malik Nabers in NY

No. 23-ranked Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders released his weekly podcast, '2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders' on Tuesday. In the podcast, he talked about several topics, including his opportunity to meet and play catch with New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers last week.

Malik Nabers has expressed frustration this season for not getting the ball as much as he would like. He said that he does not care how many times he drops the ball, he wants the quarterback to keep throwing to him. Shedeur Sanders commented on the conversation he had with Nabers about his first year in the NFL (comments start at 4:08):

"It was tough situations that he was put in and I feel like they try to paint him a different way because I feel he gives them the opportunity to do that. So we just had that conversation like I just went through that same stuff with the media and with everything to where I understand there's some things I can't say and some things I can say.

"At the end of the day, we all understand that everything was cool. So, I feel he's a good person and the media tries to portray him like he's a big selfish guy but I don't think that's what it is. I think he's just real passionate about the game and he wants to win."

Sanders added:

"When you're not doing that week after week, you're not getting the ball, that's every receiver. Travis get mad when he don't get the ball. You just got to know how to deal with different types of receivers. That's what I like about him, he's passionate about the game and he knows what he wants."

Shedeur Sanders and Malik Nabers could be teammates next season

Malik Nabers was the sixth pick in the 2024 NFL draft, and the Giants will have another high pick in the 2025 draft. Most pundits agree that the Giants should be interested in drafting a quarterback, and as a result, there is a strong possibility that Shedeur Sanders and Malik Nabers could be teammates next NFL season.

Sanders is widely expected to be one of the first two quarterbacks drafted in the 2025 NFL draft alongside Miami's Cam Ward. The Giants along with the Las Vegas Raiders are both expected to take quarterbacks. It is unclear which player will go first between Sanders and Ward, so there is a strong chance Sanders could be a Giant.
