After Ole Miss’ incredible 28-10 win over No. 11 Georgia Bulldogs (7-2, 5-2, SEC), wide receiver Jordan Watkins took to Instagram to celebrate, posting pictures with the fitting caption, "🐶☠️." This victory was a historic moment for the Rebels (8-2, 4-2, SEC), and it pushed them to No. 11 in the Coaches Poll and No. 10 in the AP Poll.

Watkins’ four catches for 68 yards helped Ole Miss get its first top-five victory since the 2015 upset against Alabama. Dart, suddenly a Heisman contender who played through a taped-up ankle, didn’t miss the chance to hype up his teammate. Dart dropped a two-word comment on Watkins’ post, calling him the “Knockdown King.”

Despite his injury, Dart was able to get the best of Kirby Smart’s Georgia defense. He kept the Rebels alive against a Bulldogs team that has been nearly unbeatable in recent years.

Ole Miss HC reveals plans to defeat Georgia

Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin finally got a signature win he’d been unable to in recent years. The 28-10 triumph over Georgia keeps the Rebels in the CFP hunt. He talked about the game’s success on “The Dan Patrick Show,” revealing revamping the defensive line was a key focus to beat Georgia.

This is important, especially after last year’s humiliating 611-yard concession to the Bulldogs. This season, Kiffin’s defense held Georgia to just 246 total yards. The Rebels also sacked star quarterback Carson Beck five times.

“We wanted to beat Georgia, so we went out … we changed the size of our line of scrimmages, the twitch of our (defensive ends) in order to pass rush against them."

The new strategy worked wonders. The Bulldogs were restricted to a mere 10 points, with Beck having only 186 passing yards and zero touchdowns. It’s a turnaround that firmly establishes the Rebels as a team to watch in the College Football Playoff race.

“Really outside of Alabama, nobody has beat Georgia since COVID. If you’re going to go win a championship, to me it’s got to go through Georgia, so you better build your team to be able to beat Georgia."

The next game for the Ole Miss is against the Florida Gators in Gainesville on Nov. 23.
