Jayden Daniels will play for the LSU Tigers in their Week 7 matchup against the Auburn Tigers.
Daniels was a bit sore after Saturday's game, according to coach Brian Kelly. However, he didn't appear on the injury report or wasn't limited at all in practice, suggesting that he's healthy and should be able to play on Saturday.
Jayden Daniels Injury Update
Kelly said that Daniels was still feeling the rib injury on Tuesday and Wednesday's practice but looked 100% healthy on Thursday. Kelly was also impressed by how Daniels managed his minor injury to make sure he would be good to go on Saturday.
“It’s one of those things where, as a coach, you want to be aware of how a QB is feeling and how you move into the week,” Kelly said. “We have captains meetings on Mondays, and he told me that day that he didn’t want anything to be changed up. We didn’t change anything up, and he took all the reps.
“I think it sent a really good message to everybody about; you know, there’s gonna be some bumps and bruises and guys are going to be sore, but you have to get through it,” Kelly added.
Having Jayden Daniels remain under center is huge for the LSU Tigers who are off to a 4-2 start. However, LSU can still win the SEC West but will need to win out for that to happen, and Daniels gives them the best chance of doing so.
LSU hosts Auburn on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
