"Jumped on them from the word go": Coach Prime's Confidant Warren Sapp succinctly sums up Colorado's win over Oklahoma State

The No. 23 Colorado Buffaloes finished their regular season in style with a 52–0 win over Oklahoma State. Although the Buffaloes saw their playoff hopes crushed after losing 37–21 to Kansas the previous week, they played for pride against the Cowboys and dominated from the start of the game.

Coach Prime and his coaching staff are part of what has made the Buffaloes a success. Deion Sanders does a great job of coaching and motivating his team. He also brought in several excellent assistant coaches. He brought his confidant, Warren Sapp, as a graduate assistant coach for Colorado in 2024.

In a clip posted on the "Seen Satan Sports" YouTube channel, Sapp discussed the Buffaloes' performance against Oklahoma State.

"Their running back Ollie Gordan, I think after Shilo hit him, I think it sent a message to the whole team," he said. "These boys ain't playing today boys, we better duck, they shoot."

"It was a beautiful thing to see because after what happened in Kansas City, I wanted that taste out of our mouth so bad. I mean, we jumped on them from the word go. Just kept the peddle down. And the best part was our reserves went in and preserved the shut out.

The Colorado Buffaloes will not play in the college football playoff despite their dominant win over Oklahoma State

Despite pulling off a dominant shutout win over Oklahoma State in the regular season finale, the Buffaloes will not have the opportunity to play in the College Football Playoff. To make the Big 12 Championship Game, they needed other teams like Iowa State to lose on Saturday, but that did not happen.

In the new 12-team playoff format, the five highest-ranked conference champions automatically make the playoffs, with the four highest-ranked earning byes through the first round. Since Colorado did not qualify for the Big 12 Championship Game, it can not make the playoffs in one of those spots.

The other seven spots go to the seven highest-ranked non-champions. As the No. 23 team in the nation, the Buffaloes are not in a position to make the playoffs as one of those teams.

As a result, they will close out their season with a non-playoff bowl game. They will not know which game they are playing until after championship weekend. That's when the final rankings are released and the playoff teams are announced.
