Kadyn Proctor injury update: Alabama HC Kalen DeBoer gives insight on star OL's status

The Alabama Crimson Tide have faced no shortage of injuries across their offensive line at the start of their 2024-25 campaign. Among their banged-up linemen is former five-star recruit Kadyn Proctor.

Proctor suffered a shoulder injury ahead of Alabama's season opener versus Western Kentucky on Aug. 31. On Wednesday afternoon, Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer offered some insight on the offensive lineman's status ahead of their Week 3 matchup versus Wisconsin.

"He's been practicing," DeBoer said. "He's doing well. Doing a good job. Really was headed in a really good direction right at the very end of last week. ... In a good spot here. Done a nice job here in the first two days of practice."

Proctor was ranked as the No. 5 recruit in the country by 247Sports coming out of Des Moines, Iowa and the No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2023 class.

The Crimson Tide have started their season strong, notching a 63-0 win in their season opener before beating USF 42-16, scoring 28 points in the fourth quarter.

Will Kadyn Proctor play this week versus Wisconsin?

While Kalen DeBoer did not specifically indicate whether or not Kadyn Proctor would play in Alabama's Week 3 matchup versus Wisconsin, it's safe to assume the sophomore will likely suit up for the Crimson Tide this weekend. Proctor practicing and getting up to speed in Alabama's offense after two games is a great sign and indicates that he will see the field versus the Badgers.

Alabama has two more offensive players dealing with injuries: o-lineman Elijah Pritchett and wideout Cole Adams. DeBoer said Pritchett is "in a good spot right now as well."

As for Adams, DeBoer said the freshman WR is "probably doubtful for this game." Adams and Pritchett suffered injuries last week versus USF and have been given positive updates on their return.
