The No. 11 Alabama Crimson Tide are heading into a massive Southeastern Conference matchup in Week 11 as they are on the road against the No. 14 LSU Tigers. This game will have massive implications for the SEC and the College Football Playoff.
On Monday, Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer gave a significant update on wide receiver Cole Adams.
"With his injury, he'll be out for the year," DeBoer said to the media. "We had to deal with that last week, and it's unfortunate because Cole's a guy who pours everything into it."
Adams suffered a lower-body injury in the first quarter against the Missouri Tigers on Oct. 26. He was helped off the field before being carted to the locker room.
The redshirt freshman has been limited throughout the season. He had six receptions for 94 yards (15.7 yards per catch). He has been battling injuries, as he suffered an arm injury earlier this season. It forced him to miss one game and wear an arm brace.
How can the Alabama Crimson Tide survive the Cole Adams injury?
In terms of the wide receiver position, the loss of Cole Adams does not affect how the offense will look, as he was not in the offensive scheme to begin with. However, this will affect the Alabama Crimson Tide in the special teams game, as Adams returned 11 punts and one kickoff this season.
Wide receiver Ryan Williams returned punts after Adams left the game. Kalen DeBoer and his coaching staff had to be prepared for this situation and they were.
