On Saturday, 4-star OT Micah DeBose gave Kalen DeBoer and Crimson Tide fans a pleasant surprise during his official visit to Tuscaloosa. The 6-foot-5, 315-pound prospect went onstage and announced his decision to commit to Alabama.

Freshman wide receiver Ryan Willams streamed the moment when DeBose made his commitment. In the video posted online, everyone including DeBoer was seen cheering on the 4-star prospect.

"After careful consideration, talking to my family, going throug my different options, I have committed to the University of Alabama," DeBose said.

DeBose had over 30 offers—which included top college programs such as LSU, Ohio State and Florida. He hails from Vigor High School in Mobile and is ranked by 247Sports Composite as the No. 8 offensive tackle.

After securing DeBose's commitment, the Crimson Tide now has 18 commitments in the 2025 recruiting class. He is the third offensive tackle to commit alongside Mal Waldrep and Jackson Lloyd.

Alabama's 2025 recruiting class was ranked third in the nation by 247Sports Composite prior to his commitment. They now sit at second after Ohio State.

Micah DeBose puts his faith in Kalen DeBoer's abilities

After taking over as retired 7x national champion coach Nick Saban's successor, DeBoer is making sure that there is no scarcity of talent in the future of Alabama.

DeBose had an interview with AL.com in January and opened up about how he felt DeBoer would do a good job in Tuscaloosa.

He also talked about how DeBoer promised him that he will be developed into a top NFL talent should he join Alabama's program.

"I feel like Alabama is going to be just fine. DeBoer just talked about how I could buy into the program and become a good player at Alabama and how he could change and mold me into a player I want to be in the future in the NFL on and off the field."

DeBose initially committed to the Georgia Bulldogs in Jaunuary 2023. But in December, he decided to de-commit from Kirby Smart's program.
