Kobe Hylton initially joined the FCS-level LIU Sharks as an unranked prospect in the 2019 recruiting class. He appeared in eight games with the program, recording 11 total tackles, 10 of which were solo tackles, one interception and one pass defended.

Following the season, Hylton joined the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Golden Norsemen, a junior college program. He made six appearances, recording 19 total tackles, 15 of which were solo tackles, 1.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sacks, one interception, one forced fumble and nine passes defended.

Hylton then joined the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns ahead of the 2021 season, however, he wound up redshirting the year and joining the UTEP Miners via the transfer portal ahead of the 2022 season. He appeared in 22 games in two seasons with the program, recording 146 total tackles, 82 of which were solo tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and seven passes defended.

Hylton once again entered the transfer portal ahead of the 2024 season, joining the Oklahoma State Cowboys. He appeared in 12 games and recorded 40 total tackles, 31 of which were solo tackles, 1.0 tackles for loss, one interception and two passes defended.

247Sports' Chris Hummer took to X/Twitter on Thursday to share that Hylton has entered the transfer portal once again:

"Oklahoma State starting DB Kobe Hylton has entered the transfer portal as a grad transfer, @mzenitz and I have learned. Hylton played at UTEP before Oklahoma State and has 113 career tackles."

Here's a closer look at five potential landing spots for Kobe Hylton via the transfer portal.

5 potential Kobe Hylton landing spots via transfer portal

#1. Colorado Buffaloes

The Colorado Buffaloes will have big shoes to fill in the secondary next season, as two-way star Travis Hunter is expected to enter the 2025 NFL draft. Coach Deion Sanders has shown that he's willing to utilize the transfer portal to improve the roster. The Buffaloes will be in the market for help in the secondary this offseason and Kobe Hylton could be a target.

#2. Texas Tech Red Raiders

Despite finishing 8-4, the Texas Tech Red Raiders were abysmal against the pass during the regular season as they were the second-worst unit in the nation. They allowed 305.3 passing yards per game, which was a major part of the reason they allowed 34.5 points per game, tied for 13th-most in the nation. The Red Raiders could look to target Kobe Hylton to help against the pass.

#3. Georgia Bulldogs

The Georgia Bulldogs are another program that makes sense for Kobe Hylton as they will likely lose Malaki Starks to the 2025 NFL draft. Joining Kirby Smart's program allows the defensive back to return to his home state while joining a perennial contender that is constantly being watched by NFL scouts.

#4. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets were a middle-of-the-pack unit against the pass in 2024, however, they will likely be looking to add talent to their secondary. While they aren't a perennial contender like their intrastate rivals, Kobe Hylton could be enticed by the opportunity to return to his home state.

#5. Stanford Cardinal

The Stanford Cardinal struggled tremendously against the pass in 2024, allowing 280.6 passing yards per game, the fourth-most in the nation. That played a big role in the Cardinal allowing 33.7 points per game, the 19th-most in the nation. They could look to target Kobe Hylton to help the struggling unit.
