"Lamar uses his mind as well": Fans rip Shedeur Sanders for picking Joe Burrow over youngest Heisman winner ever 

No. 23-ranked Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders released his podcast, "2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders," on Tuesday. On the show, he discussed several topics, including what NFL quarterback is the most influential to him.

When asked the question, he responded by saying that he admires Joe Burrow because he likes how Burrow developed his work ethic and mind to become one of the best quarterbacks in the world. He thinks those traits are relatable and things he can work towards.

Conversely, watching someone like Lamar Jackson (who was the youngest Heisman winner ever), who is an unbelievable athlete, Sanders said he could practice forever and never be able to do some of the things Jackson can do. So, he looks up to Burrow more.

This response angered several fans, especially those who liked Jackson. Several called out Sanders for not giving enough credit to Jackson for being a smart player on top of being an elite athlete.

"F*ck outta here with that. Lamar uses his mind as well," one fan wrote.

"I think people dont recognize how much more cerebral lamar has gotten and how much hes worked to improve things like his mechanics cuz of how much success he had his first mvp year off of just straight athleticism," another fan commented.

"Might as well claim that he could win a Nobel Prize in physics but that a 100M gold is just too unrealistic," one fan added.

Other fans were less critical and realized that Shedeur Sanders was praising both Burrow and Jackson.

"This is a complement to Lamar and Joe. Lamar wins with his mind yes but nobody can do what he and Josh Allen do unless you’re born with it," one fan wrote.

"He’s right. There’s only one Lamar. There are way more “Joe’s”. Neither are bad. They’re different. Vastly," one fan commented.

"Joe Burrow won because he had Chase, Higgins, Boyd, Mixon and a great defense and in college he had Chase and Jefferson for some reason everybody act like Burrow has played with bums who he elevates," one fan added.

Sanders will have the opportunity to compete with both players in the near future

Sanders will have the chance to compete with both Burrow and Jackson in the near future. When the 2025 NFL draft takes place, Sanders is expected to be one of the top picks. He is widely viewed as one of the top two quarterbacks in the draft alongside Cam Ward, with some mock drafts even projecting him as the first overall pick.
