Lane Kiffin drops a candid comment as DE Princely Umanmielen declares for the 2025 NFL Draft

Ole Miss Rebels coach Lane Kiffin dropped a comment after star pass rusher Princely Umanmielen declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. Umanmielen was only at Ole Miss for one season.

Umanmielen was one of the top transfer portal players last season after four years at Florida. He ended up committing to Ole Miss and he recorded 37 tackles, 10.5 sacks and one forced fumble.

"Me too," Kiffin wrote when a fan said he is gonna miss Umanmielen at Ole Miss.

Umanmielen penned a heartfelt message to Ole Miss as he announced the end of his college career.

"To the one-of-a-kind Lane Kiffin, I appreciate you for allowing me to be a part of a special team, leading us to a 10-win season," he wrote. "I am thankful for all the supportive fans of Florida and of Ole Miss. My journey has been unique to to say the least but but everything I've went through I know is for a reason because God makes no mistakes. With that being said, I'm happy to share that I will be declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft."

Umanmielen was a four-star recruit as a prospect and a four-star recruit as a transfer, according to 247Sports. He finished his college career with 135 tackles, 25.5 sacks and four forced fumbles.

NFLDraftBuzz.com projects Princely Umanmielen to be a first-round pick as they have him as their third-best pass rusher in the draft.

ESPN's draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr., meanwhile, has Umanmielen as the seventh-best pass rusher in the draft and could fall outside the first round. ESPN's latest mock draft also doesn't have Umanmielen being a first-round pick.

Ultimately, Umanmielen will likely be a late first or early Day 2 pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
