Five-star quarterback prospect Julian Lewis flipped his commitment from coach Lincoln Riley's USC Trojans to Coach Prime's Colorado Buffaloes at the start of December. It comes after he took several trips to Boulder over the past few months. Lewis has even been included in the Buffs' practice squad for the Alamo Bowl game against the BYU Cougars on December 28.

In a clip posted on Deion Sanders Jr.'s YouTube channel "Well Off Forever" on Thursday, Lewis jokingly clapped back at Coach Prime's eldest son. He took a dig at him for asking him questions in the locker room while he was changing next to the NFL-bound Shedeur after a practice session.

"Bruh leave me alone, he's been on my a** all week. I'm just spectating the future New York Giants quarterback (Shedeur Sanders). I'm still inspired you know. I get to watch him and Travis Hunter every day," Julian Lewis said. (5:25)

Coach Prime compares Julian Lewis to Shedeur Sanders

For the first time in his coaching career, Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders will be without the services of his son, Shedeur Sanders. The latest ESPN mock draft has projected him to be the No. 1 quarterback off the board in the 2025 NFL Draft.

During his weekly news conference, Coach Prime paid Julian Lewis the ultimate compliment. He compared him to his son due to the way his family life off of the gridiron has been structured (7:00).

“Shedeur’s worked really well for us. He has a wonderful father in his life. Father has always been there. Father just knows the game and a father that’s hands-on. I saw a lot of similarities in the way Julian’s life has been structured, speaking to his father multitude of times, understanding how he came up, what he wants out of life, what he wants out of the game, and from the game, and what he gives to the game. "The similarities are unbelievable. He’s (Lewis) everything that we desire in a quarterback. He’s smart, he could throw, make, every throw. He has pocket awareness, pocket presence. He is a darn leader, but most of all, he’s a winner. People forget that category when you look at the quarterback. Are they winners?"

Julian Lewis has been immediately incorporated into the Colorado Buffaloes setup. He has even gotten the chance to train with stars like Shedeur Sanders and the Heisman-winning Travis Hunter before they depart for the NFL. This is an unusual state of affairs but shows the trust that Coach Prime has in him.
