"Looks like a make a wish speech": CFB fans question Kirby Smart's treatment of Carson Beck after post-game speech goes viral 

Kirby Smart has been able to develop himself into a strong coach by holding his players accountable for their performances on the field. He also doesn't allow any excuses for poor play.

However, a recent post-game speech from Smart shows that he may not be as hard on some players. One of these is quarterback Carson Beck.

Here is how college football fans online reacted to the post-game speech from Smart and his treatment of Beck.

These fans have criticized Smart’s gentler approach to Beck.

"Sh*t looks like a make-a-wish speech. He’s so bad," said this fan.

"Is Kirby softer on Beck than any other player. Stet (Stetson Bennett, former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback) would drop 350 with 4 touchdowns and Kirby would publicly criticize him," said another fan.

These fans have criticised Carson Beck, and believe he is "soft."

"beck is so tender & be in his feelings so quick 😭," said this fan.

"Soft! Son, the NFL isn’t gonna put up with that shiiit!" Said another fan.

However, this fan has highlighted that, at least, one player is taking in Smart's message:

"KJ right up in the front!!! Takin it all in and leveling up!!" Said the fan.

Carson Beck's form in 2024

Carson Beck has had mixed fortunes this season as the quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs. He began the season as the early favorite to win the Heisman Trophy and to lead the Bulldogs to their third national championship in four years.

However, while he can still lead the team to the national championship, his quest for the Heisman Trophy is all but over. Coming into Week 11, Beck has thrown for 2,302 yards and 17 touchdowns.

However, he has struggled with ball security in many games this season and has racked up 11 interceptions so far.

In the last four games the Bulldogs have played (all of which they won), Beck threw for seven touchdown and eight interceptions.His performances against top teams have only made this issue more prevalent.

In games against Alabama and Texas, Beck threw three interceptions in each and has been reliant on the run game from players like Trevor Etienne to give the Bulldogs points.

These performances are not something that is expected from a quarterback who may lead his team to a national championship.

Questions should be asked as to why Kirby Smart is treating him somewhat nicely, when, if anyone else was playing as he did, the treatment would not be as nice.
