TCU started with a methodical 11-play, 75-yard drive capped off by a 3-yard touchdown pass from Josh Hoover to DJ Rogers. The Horned Frogs capitalized on a missed field goal from Louisiana with another touchdown drive capped off by a pass from Hoover to Eric McAlister at the goal line, extending their lead to 14-0.
The Horned Frogs forced a punt on the ensuing drive and kicked a 45-yard field goal to extend their lead to 17-0 in the opening minutes of the second quarter. TCU forced another punt on Louisiana's next drive and kicked a 22-yard field goal to extend their lead to 20-0 with 5:34 remaining in the first half.
After forcing a punt and an interception on each of Louisiana's next two drives, the Horned Frogs capitalized with a 20-yard touchdown pass to JP Richardson, taking a 27-0 lead into the locker rooms at the half.
Louisiana's only points of the game came with a 24-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. After extending their lead to 34-0 with a touchdown in the third quarter. TCU held on to secure a 34-3 win.
