Colorado coach Deion Sanders was relieved after settling the online ruckus between Travis Hunter and ex-NFL star Richard Sherman. The dispute started when Sherman criticized Hunter's two-way abilities and expressed his doubts about working in the NFL.
After back-and-forth jabs, Sherman said he and Hunter sorted it out between themselves and credited Deion Sanders for being the mediator.
"Just had a great conversation with @TravisHunterJr! Preciate you @DeionSanders for setting that up. Huge fan of that young man and grateful to be able to clear that up," Sherman wrote on X.
Deion Sanders had some words of appreciation for Richard Sherman for being the bigger man and sorting out the ruckus.
"Love ya my brother! You blessed the young fellow today! Proud Friend & Coach," Sanders wrote in the caption.
Travis Hunter transferred from Jackson State along with Coach Prime and his sons last season. Despite the Buffs going 4-8 in their first campaign, the two-way star showcased his exceptional talent and versatility on the field and was awarded the Paul Hornung award.
In four games this season, Hunter has put up 472 receiving yards and five touchdowns while catching 37 passes. As a cornerback, he has recorded 13 tackles, three passes defended, one forced fumble and one interception.
Travis Hunter reveals his true feelings after Richard Sherman's apology
On Friday, Well Off Media released a video where the Colorado two-way star shared his true feelings about Richard Sherman's apology.
"We talked on the phone ... no negative energy. He was telling me that he watched me a lot ... I grew up watching him. 49ers was my favorite team when I was growing up," Hunter said.
"He was telling me he apologized. I accepted the apology. I ain't mean, for if I did anything wrong, it just kinda hurt me because I look up to him. So that's pretty much what it was."
Now that the online feud has been sorted, Travis Hunter and the Buffs will look to extend their winning streak in week 5. The game against the UCF Knights is scheduled to be played on Saturday, September 28, and will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET.
