Marcus Freeman's scoffing moment from Orange Bowl press conference goes viral

Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman and Penn State coach James Franklin sat down for a press conference on Wednesday ahead of the Orange Bowl. At the press conference, both head coaches answered questions about the game, their teams and each other.

However, they were interrupted when a media update was played over the loudspeaker, interrupting the press conference.

"A post game breakfast buffet will be available here, at the hotel, until approximately midnight," the announcement said. "And lastly all credentialed media are encouraged to join us tonight for the Capital One Orange Bowl casino media night and media party taking place at the Westin Fort Lauderdale beach from 6 until 9 p.m."

This moment was caught on video and posted on Twitter. Freeman scoffed as the loudspeaker played. However, he smiled and laughed to himself when the section about the casino played.

This press conference with Marcus Freeman and James Franklin took place on Wednesday morning, allowing the media to ask any questions they want as the Orange Bowl approaches. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Penn State Nittany Lions will compete in the Orange Bowl on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The winner of the game will advance to the National Championship Game. There, they will play the winner of the Cotton Bowl between the Texas Longhorns and Ohio State Buckeyes. That game takes place on Friday. The National Championship Game will take place on Jan. 20.

With the Orange Bowl approaching quickly, both teams must prepare for what could be their most challenging games of the season. Neither team has faced much opposition through the first two rounds of the College Football Playoff.

Freeman and his squad easily dispatched Indiana in the first round, defeating them 27–17. However, the game was not as close as the score makes it seem as the Fighting Irish took a 17–3 lead in the first half. They then defeated Georgia 23–10 in the Sugar Bowl.

Despite losing the Big Ten Championship Game to Oregon, Penn State had a simple path. In the first round, they defeated SMU with ease, winning 38–10. Then in the Fiesta Bowl, they were able to overcome Ashton Jeanty and the Boise State Broncos, winning 31–14.
