The Maryland Terrapins traveled to Death Valley to take on the No. 4 Penn State Nittany Lions in the latest installment of a storied Big Ten Conference rivalry. The Nittany Lions are coming off a 26-25 win over Minnesota, entering Saturday's matchup with a 10-1 record on the season.

Maryland looked to spoil Penn State's Big Ten Championship - and potentially College Football Playoff - hopes with a win. The Terrapins came into the game after a disappointing 29-13 loss against Iowa in their last time out, extending their losing streak to four games. Maryland entered the matchup with a 4-7 record on the season.

After a slow first quarter, Penn State closed the first half scoring 28 unanswered points, taking a 31-7 lead into the locker rooms at halftime. The Nittany Lions shut out the Terrapins in the second half, outscoring Maryland 13-0 to clinch a 44-7 win and clinch a spot in the Big Ten Championship versus the top-ranked Oregon Ducks.
