College football analyst Michael Irvin has been pressing Jerry Jones to appoint Deion Sanders as the next Dallas Cowboys coach. The Cowboys lost their seventh game of the season on Monday night against the Houston Texans 34-10 and Dallas coach Mike McCarthy is on thin ice.

Following the Cowboys' Week 11 defeat, Irvin posted a message on Instagram, saying that he was "praying" for Dallas owner Jones to hire Sanders as the team's next coach.

"I spent Friday night with Jerry Jones. I spent Saturday with ⁦‪@DeionSanders‬⁩. I spent Sunday with the lord PRAYING for ???? ????? (GUEST WHAT) Now after what the ⁦‪@dallascowboys‬⁩ looked like on Monday Night Football. Gotta work harder!!!" Irvin wrote.

Irvin uploaded a series of three pictures on his Instagram post. He was pictured with Jones in one and with Sanders in the next. The third picture was a praying image.

While the Cowboys have struggled to get things right this season in the NFL, Colorado has been the talk of the town in the college football world.

The No. 16 Buffaloes (8-2, 6-1 Big 12) have been one of the most improved teams in the country in Sanders' second season at the helm. Colorado is also in with a chance of reaching the 12-team College Football Playoff this season.

During Saturday's boxing bout between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium, Michael Irvin promised that he would recommend Deion Sanders to Jerry Jones if the Cowboys owner was looking to change coaches.

"Everybody loves Mike [Tyson], but everybody loves and respects Jake [Paul] also for what he's done here," Irvin said during Netflix's broadcast of the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight.
"To have an ability to not go the normal route and still end up right here. You give him respect. I give him respect like I give my great guy Deion Sanders, who didn't go the normal route. Who I'm gonna be in Jerry's ear about later. That's just something else we're talking about."

Sanders signed a five-year, $29.5 million contract with Colorado in December 2022. He led the program to a 4-8 record last season but is now on course to lead the team into the playoffs.

The turnaround at Colorado has been nothing short of spectacular and Sanders has been at the center of it all. It's no surprise that there are reports suggesting that top NFL teams and other college programs are keen on luring Coach Prime.
