The Michigan Wolverines will enter a new chapter under head coach Sherrone Moore. Jim Harbaugh left Ann Arbor to join the NFL's Los Angeles Chargers after leading the team to an undefeated national championship last season.
In Episode 3 of 'Michigan Made,' Moore clarified his thoughts on what kind of mindset he desires from his players for the 2024 season.
"If you don't want to be held to a high standard, this is not the place for you. If you don't want to win championships, this is not the place for you. If you don't want to work hard, this is not the place for you. This is so fitting that this is where he had our first team meeting. Cause this is where it all starts," Moore said.
The Michigan Wolverines have lost key players, like quarterback J.J. McCarthy and RB Blake Corum, to the 2024 NFL draft. However, Moore has put in the work in the offseason to bring in new talents from high school and the transfer portal. As per 247Sports, the Wolverines are the 19th overall ranked 2024 recruiting class.
Sherrone Moore previously served three seasons as Michigan's offensive coordinator. He also served as interim head coach during Harbaugh's suspension last season, which helped him gain experience for the position.
Sherrone Moore still keeps in touch with Jim Harbaugh amid departure from Michigan
During the Big Ten Media Days, Moore revealed that he and Harbaugh still share a close bond and talk to each other over calls.
"I just talked to him (Harbaugh) about two days ago and just continue to say to you, because it was working and it continues to work," Moore said. "So for me, he's just, he's always himself. He's always gonna just go and tell me the truth and I'll talk to him as often as possible.
"And he told me, you know, his phone's there and he's just waiting, waiting to be counted on and so I'm excited to call them again soon."
It will be interesting to see if Sherrone Moore will be able to lead the Wolverines to another successful natty run in his debut head coaching campaign in Ann Arbor.
