Defensive tackle Kenneth Grant has announced that he will enter the 2025 NFL draft. On Thursday, the Michigan Wolverines defensive lineman shared on X/Twitter that he will leave the program after three seasons.

"Go Blue 4L with a blue heart emoji," Grant wrote.

Grant had 32 tackles (18 solo) and three sacks this season. One of his best performances in the regular season was when Michigan (7-5) defeated the Northwestern Wildcats 50-6 on Nov. 23. He finished with three solo tackles, including one sack, in the victory.

One fan shared that he gave his son a signed jersey from Grant for Christmas:

On Dec. 16, Grant was among the defensive players honored on the 2024 Associated Press All-American third-team defense. He also won Defensive Player of The Game in the Wolverines' 27-24 win over the USC Trojans on Sept. 21, with the defensive tackle having two solo tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery.

Kenneth Grant's status for the Michigan vs. Alabama bowl game

Kenneth Grant is still expected to play in Michigan's matchup against the No. 11 Alabama Crimson Tide (9-3) in the ReliaQuest Bowl on Tuesday in Tampa, Florida. In his post, the defensive lineman didn't share whether he would opt out to prepare for the NFL draft.

However, his status could change as the game draws closer.

Michigan could use his defensive ability to compete against Alabama if he can play. The Crimson Tide have the eighth-most passing yards in the Southeastern Conference, with 2,881. The Wolverines' offense has struggled at times this season but has benefitted from its defense. The team losing Grant could be an issue against the Crimson Tide in the Wolverines' final game of the season.
