Michigan vs. Ohio State kicked off on Saturday at Noon ET. The No. 2-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes (10-1) hosted the Michigan Wolverines (6-5) in a rivalry game to close the season.

Before the game started, these teams were having very different seasons. The Wolverines had a difficult 2024 and could not defend their national championship. They were coming off a 50-6 win over Northwestern last Saturday.

Conversely, Ohio State had an excellent season and came off a 38-15 win over No. 10-ranked Indiana.

As a result, before the game started, the Buckeyes were big favorites. BetMGM had them as -1600 favorites and the Wolverines as +960 underdogs entering the game.

However, Michigan was able to overcome Ohio State in a low-scoring game. The Wolverines won 13-10, making it their fourth straight win in this rivalry.

Michigan vs. Ohio State game summary

Although Ohio State entered the game as the favorite, there was worry in the fanbase that the Buckeyes would lose to Michigan. They had not beaten the Wolverines since 2019, losing the past three matchups.

Things started well for Ohio State as they opened the scoring with a field goal in the first quarter. That was the only scoring by either team in the first.

However, Michigan got into the game in the second quarter. Less than three minutes into the second quarter, the Wolverines took the lead with a touchdown. There was then some back-and-forth between the teams and neither could score.

However, with two minutes left, Michigan added a field goal to extend its lead. Fortunately for the Buckeyes, Ohio State finally scored a touchdown with 30 seconds left to tie the game 10-10 heading into halftime.

The second half was a defensive clinic, as both teams struggled to score. On four straight drives, the Buckeyes and Wolverines each threw an interception. Ohio State missed a field goal, and Michigan also threw an interception.

Both teams struggled with offense and the game remained 10-10 in the final minutes. However, the Wolverines managed to get down the field and score a field goal with 45 seconds left.

The score held on till the final whistle and Michigan registered a 13-10 win over Ohio State, who walked away with a fourth straight head-to-head loss against the Wolverines since 2020.
