Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy is optimistic about his wide receiver group as the team sets its sights on the Big 12 Championship in 2024.

In a conversation with ESPN analyst Greg McElroy on the Always College Football podcast, Gundy expressed his confidence in his wideouts.

He named three key players: Brennan Presley, who caught 101 passes for 991 yards and six touchdowns in 2023; Rashod Owens, who finished with 895 yards on 63 receptions and five touchdowns; and De’Zhaun Stribling, who had 14 catches for 198 yards and one touchdown.

Coach Gundy, who has been with Oklahoma State Cowboys for two decades now, said:

“We’re very comfortable at the wideout position, and/or our tight end,” Gundy said [h/t On3]. “We’ve migrated back to using tight ends 90 percent of the game. We’re trying to recruit a good number of those guys that we can split out some, do some different things with.” [Timestamp - 14:04]

Last year, they also brought in a player from UMass. Regarding the wide receivers, Gundy said that they have six players with experience in conference and postseason play who they believe can significantly contribute to the team. With this depth, Gundy is hopeful about the upcoming season.
