The Kentucky Wildcats dominated the first half, kicking things off by forcing an interception on Murray State's opening drive. Kentucky capitalized with a 52-yard passing touchdown from Brock Vandagriff to Hardley Gilmore IV, giving the Wildcats a 7-0 lead.
They forced two Pacers punts, resulting in a second TD by Demie Sumo-Karngbaye to end the first quarter with a 14-0 lead. After a 10-minute scoring drought to start the second quarter, Kentucky scored the first points of the quarter with a 32-yard field goal, extending its lead to 17-0.
The Wildcats then forced a second Murray State interception and drove 91 yards in 11 plays, capped off by a 19-yard TD catch from Ja'Mori Maclin.
