The Colorado vs Baylor showdown was one of the most intense games of Week 4. Despite Deion Sanders' team trailing in the beginning, they managed to pull off an incredible comeback to emerge victorious 38-31 in overtime in their first Big 12 game of the season.
The performance from both teams also managed to reel in the interest of UConn Huskies women's basketball star Paige Bueckers. As both Colorado and Baylor battled it out on the gridiron, Bueckers took to social media to share her excitement of the game.
In a tweet she posted on X, Paige Bueckers wrote that the Week 4 showdown between these two teams was beyond comprehension.
"Nah this Colorado & Baylor game is WILDDDDD," Paige Bueckers wrote.
With this victory, the Buffs are now on a two-game winning streak. After last season's 4-8 campaign, Coach Prime and his team will be looking to at least qualify for the bowl games this season. And this victory against the Bears will act as a boost of confidence for the remainder of their 2024 campaign.
Shedeur Sanders and Colorado put on an impressive performance against the Bears
After last week's success in the Rocky Mountain Showdown, Coach Prime and his team were looking forward to continuing this momentum heading into Week 4. The Baylor Bears initially took the lead in the first quarter thanks to a 32-yard field goal by Isaiah Hankins.
However, Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders put the Buffs back on track with a 2-yard rushing TD. But in the second quarter, the Bears managed to score three touchdowns, putting the Buffs in a tight spot.
With just less than a minute remaining in the first half, Shedeur Sanders managed to reduce the deficit to seven points for the Buffs. He managed to find Omarion Miller at the endzone with a 58-yard TD pass. Colorado then tied the score in the third quarter thanks to Micah Welch's touchdown.
Baylor QB Sawyer Roberston found Hal Presley with a 43-yard TD pass in the fourth quarter with just five minutes left in the game. However, with just two seconds remaining in the game, Shedeur Sanders found LaJohntay Wester with a 43-yard TD pass to take the game to overtime (31-31).
Micah Welch scored his second touchdown of the night in OT to give the Buffs the victory in the end.
Shedeur Sanders finished the night with 341 passing yards and two TD passes while rushing for 26 yards and one touchdown. The Buffs are next scheduled to take on the UCF Knights.
