Coach Prime's ex-wife Pilar Sanders had lashed out at some of those who criticized Deion, Shilo and Shedeur Sanders following their moves from Jackson State to Colorado. On Friday, Pilar posted a congratulatory message on Instagram for her younger son and CU quarterback, Shedeur, who won the 2024 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
Pilar then responded to a user on her IG post, who suggested that analysts and pundits needed to apologize for the lack of respect they aimed toward Deion, Shilo and Shedeur.
"There needs to be a plethora of apologies hailing from a helluvah lotta people including - media , horrible reporters, worse writers ( not true journalists) refs, players , coaches etc…." Pilar wrote in response to the IG user.
Shedeur concluded the 2024 regular season with 3,926 passing yards, 35 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He also rushed for four touchdowns across 12 games. The Colorado signal-caller is reportedly also in contention to win the Heisman Trophy.
Meanwhile, Shilo posted 59 tackles, one sack, one pass defended and one forced fumble in nine games.
Deion also deserves plenty of credit for his work at Colorado. In his first season, the Buffs finished with a rather underwhelming 4-8 record. However, this season, Colorado ended the regular season with a 9-3 record (7-2 Big 12) and will play in a bowl game later in December.
Coach Prime hints that Shedeur and Shilo Sanders will play in Colorado's bowl game vs BYU
After Colorado's final regular-season game, in which the Buffs crushed Oklahoma State 52-0, Coach Prime insisted that his big stars are expected to play in CU's bowl game vs BYU later in December.
This means that Shilo and Shedeur could suit up for Colorado one last time before they potentially declare for the 2025 NFL draft. The two Sanders brothers had a ceremonial walk with their father Deion before the Week 14 matchup against Oklahoma State, hinting that they will go pro next year.
