Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders is set to enter the 2025 NFL draft. He is expected to be one of the first two quarterbacks selected and could even be the first overall pick. However, Sanders has emphasized that his focus right now is on the upcoming bowl game for the No. 23-ranked Buffaloes.
On Tuesday, Sanders released his weekly podcast, "2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders," after making an appearance at Saturday's Heisman Trophy ceremony in New York to support his teammate and eventual winner, Travis Hunter.
On the podcast, he talked about finishing the season strong and ending his college football career on the right note.
"It's time to get focused and how we do that is start day one," Sanders said (19:06). Well actually it started last night, watch film, watch a game of film. Just feel the team out that you're going to play.
"Step two, of course you got practice during the week, you got to lift weights, you got to get your body back acclimated to the weather, not to the weather but to the air and how thin it is out here. So of course conditioning and getting back fully active in this altitude, that's step two.
"Step three, definitely go over the game plan and what we like, what we don't like. What we want to throw, what we don't want to throw. Getting your arm back in tip top shape where it will be very very accurate.
"And last but not least, step four, go out there and get to San Antonio, you're going to have practice, and get ready to dominate for the game. So, that's all the steps I feel it's going to take to be successful and to be able to win the game going into BYU."
Shedeur Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes will play the BYU Cougars in the Alamo Bowl
Although the Colorado Buffaloes narrowly missed out on an opportunity to play in the Big 12 championship game and earn a spot in the College Football Playoff, the team is still preparing hard for its bowl game. CU coach Deion Sanders has his son, Shedeur Sanders, and the rest of the team readying for the BYU matchup like it's a playoff contest.
The Buffaloes will compete in the Alamo Bowl in one of the most anticipated non-playoff bowl games of the year. The Buffaloes will lock horns against the No. 17-ranked Cougars on Dec. 28 at 7:30 p.m. ET in a matchup between two ranked teams. It will be the last college football game for Shedeur Sanders and Heisman Trophy-winning two-way star Travis Hunter.
