Colorado superstar Travis Hunter has been the talk of the town this season. He is reportedly set to enter the 2025 NFL draft, where he is projected as a top-10 pick. On Friday, NFL legend and Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway discussed Hunter's two-ability and explained how the Colorado star could use his versatility in the big league.

Elway was asked on the "Nick Ferg Show" whether he would entertain the idea of Hunter playing in offense and defense.

"Well, I think you always gotta entertain that," Elway said. (6:11) "I think when you look at his athletic ability and what he's done. You know, and he's still a young guy so I think he's just gonna continue to get better.
He's got the tools to play. He's a great corner and he's a great wideout. So I don't think there's any doubt that you want to get your best athletes on the field. The more times you get them on the field, the better off you are."

Elway concluded that although Hunter was exceptional at the collegiate level, the NFL would be another challenge altogether.

"He's proven he can do that, but the NFL is a different level. But obviously, he's got the talent to do it," he said. "Whatever he picks, he'll be great at too."

Hunter won the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award earlier this week. However, the Buffs star is eyeing an even bigger award.

Many analysts and fans believe Travis Hunter has done enough to win the Heisman Trophy this season. The wideout recorded 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns on 92 catches. He also posted 31 tackles, 11 passes deflected, four interceptions and one forced fumble as a cornerback across 12 games for Colorado.

Hunter is likely facing competition to win the Heisman from Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty and Miami quarterback Cam Ward. However, reports suggest that the Colorado star is leading the race to win the coveted college football award.

The Heisman finalists will be announced on Monday, and the winner will be announced on Dec 14.
