CFB world didn't quite enjoy the encounter of Nick Saban with Roll Tide Willie

Former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban had a meetup with superfan Roll Tide Willie. The latter became one of the most famous college football fans after going viral on social media for his love for Alabama's sports teams.

Following Saban's retirement, Roll Tide Willie admitted that he cried on hearing the news. Eventually, the two got to meet, at a recent event. It was a funny encounter and college football fans had some enjoyable comments to make about it.

"Nick Saban looking VISIBLY uncomfortable meeting Roll Tide Willie might be the funniest thing I’ve seen all day," a fan wrote.
"Effortlessly funny all the time," another fan wrote.

Other fans, meanwhile, don't think Alabama should be giving Roll Tide Willie a platform or promoting him.

"I will never understand why the university continues to give Roll Tide Willie a platform. It’s embarrassing tbh," a fan added.
"Roll Tide Willie sucks," another fan added.

Other Alabama football fans continued to take shots at Roll Tide Willie.

"I’m so sick of Willie! Enough already!" a fan added.
"Can’t believe Bama let this happen. This is humiliating. Saban doesn’t belong in the same room as this guy," a fan said.

It's clear that many Crimson Tide fans aren't fans of Roll Tide Willie and they feel he shouldn't be in the same room as Nick Saban.

Fans also thought the encounter between the two made it clear that Saban didn't like him either.

Nick Saban states factor that led to retirement

Nick Saban shockingly announced his retirement as the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide earlier this year.

After Alabama lost to Michigan in the Rose Bowl, Saban called it a day. He has now pointed out how the actions of the players influenced his decision.

"I want to be clear that wasn't the reason, but some of those events certainly contributed," Saban told ESPN. "I was really disappointed in the way that the players acted after the game. You gotta win with class. You gotta lose with class.
"We had our opportunities to win the game and we didn't do it, and then showing your a** and being frustrated and throwing helmets and doing that stuff ... that's not who we are and what we've promoted in our program."

Saban finished his career with a head coaching record of 292-71-1. With Alabama, he went 201-29. In his career, Saban won seven national championships, six of them were with the Crimson Tide.
