Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe took a break from his preparation for a trip to New York. Milroe was at the New York Yankees vs. New York Mets game, where he attended batting practice and got to meet six-time All-Star Aaron Judge.
The pair exchanged gifts, with Milroe giving the MLB star an Alabama No. 99 jersey while the quarterback received a signed bat. Also present was New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson, with the three-star meeting captured by the Yankees and posted on their Instagram page with the caption:
"3 Sports. 3 Stars. @jalenbrunson1 x @thejudge44 x @milticketfour."
Retired Alabama coach Nick Saban's daughter, Kristen Saban, who shares a close bond with Jalen Milroe, shared the post on her Instagram stories with the caption:
"Bama - Yankees," she wrote.
Jalen Milroe details lessons learned from Nick Saban
Jalen Milroe did not start last season as the undisputed QB1 for Nick Saban's faltering side.
His upturn in form came after the Texas Longhorns defeated the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, leading to the team being written off before regrouping and winning the SEC championship game against the Georgia Bulldogs and reaching the semifinals of the college football playoffs.
During an appearance on "Get Up," Milroe outlined the life lessons that he learned from retired coach Nick Saban.
“There’s so many things I learned from Coach Saban and it’s hard to narrow down one, but if I was to choose one, I say trust the process,” Milroe said.
“Every process is different when it comes to just trusting your journey. And as a guy that came in from Texas, and being acclimated to the new environment in Alabama, and how you push every single day to accomplish any goal that you want to achieve, there’s adversity that comes along the process.
“There are times of self-doubt, there’s times where you have to push through hard circumstances and throughout that time, never waver from that," he continued.
"And it comes from a leader in Coach Saban, pushing each and every day to be the best you, that’s very important. Just kind of go 1-0 each and every day, and just trying to attack the day at hand and it’s all about trusting the process,” he added.
The Alabama Crimson Tide will look to Jalen Milroe to lead them in the new Kalen DeBoer era as they seek to get over Nick Saban's retirement and demonstrate that they are still a force in college football.
