Kristen Saban posted a clarification after she posted an Instagram story cheering for the Tennessee Volunteers in a college baseball game against the Texas A&M Aggies. Her followers were shocked to see her supporting a team other than Alabama.
Here's what she posted:
This is what Nick Saban's daughter had to say for choosing another team other than Alabama:
"Lot of people are not happy that I'm cheering on Tennessee tonight. I don't know what to tell you because I'm at this point in my life right now where I feel like I can cheer on so many different teams because I can.
"Because I've been down to one team for like my entire life and I'll always love Alabama. Please stop getting mad at me. ROLL TIDE. Crimson and White forever."
Kristen Saban enjoying Nick Saban's retirement
The former Alabama HC’s daughter is cherishing every moment with her father, post-retirement. Spending time with family was a dream for Nick Saban, given his stature and importance in college football.
However, hanging up his headset in January, the 72-year-old now prioritizes family time, a luxury he rarely had before. In one of her Instagram posts, Kristen shared some family moments.
She also posted a snap of Nick and their dog as they experienced the calm of open water. The post was captioned:
"Lately 🌼"
Kristen frequently shares photos of her children, James and Amelie, playing with their grandfather. In one particular post, the legendary coach is playing baseball with his grandson in the backyard.
After her dad's retirement, Kristen spoke to ESPN about the positive changes.
"What's so exciting for all of us, especially him, is that he kind of has a blank slate now that he can play around with," she said.
With Nick Saban's retirement, the family is relishing each other’s company, trying to make up for lost time.
