Former Alabama Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban will be present during the ESPN pregame show "College GameDay" for its trip to College Station to cover the week one clash between the Texas A&M Aggies and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. This is despite losing his mother Mary Pasko Saban.
The $80 million worth Saban (as per Celebrity Net Worth) has been busy ahead of the college football season, starring in a commercial for rental host VRBO in which he plays the role of an overbearing host who makes a couple uncomfortable with his presence.
While calling into the "Pat McAfee Show" which was in Morgantown for the West Virginia Mountaineers' clash against the Penn State Nittany Lions, Nick Saban gave an honest summary of his appearance on the VRBO commercial.
"Well, you know, Pat’s my idol. He helped me on TV, sitting next to me. And I was trying to be like him on that commercial. You know, the one thing Miss Terry said is I didn’t have to do any acting in that commercial. That’s just the kind of jerk I always am,” Nick Saban said.
Nick Saban partners with Deion Sanders for Aflac commercial
It was not the first commercial that Nick Saban has been involved in as he appeared in an Aflac ad with charismatic Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders last year. Aflac announced that the duo will once again reprise their roles this year.
The company offers supplemental health insurance nationwide and runs a yearly college football commercial and Saban and Sanders returned for their fourth straight year in the campaign to raise awareness of health insurance deficits affecting Americans.
Aflac Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Garth Knutson was full of praise for the duo in a statement announcing their return.
"There's no better duo than Coach Saban and Coach Prime — two of the most renowned names in college football — to demonstrate how Aflac helps close the financial gap where health insurance ends and medical bills pile up," Garth Knutson said.
"We secured NIL deals with them to lead this campaign, reminding fans that Aflac provides big-time coverage and helps our policyholders get paid. We're grateful for their continued partnership, not just in our commercials, but in explaining how Aflac helps protect financial well-being."
When he unexpectedly retired in January, Nick Saban revealed that his life would continue to be busy and it reflected in his several engagements during the summer.
