Ryan Williams is having an impressive start to the season and his college football career. The Alabama wide receiver went viral last week for his spin catch touchdown against the Georgia Bulldogs, which gave the Crimson Tide an iconic victory.

To add to the impressive nature of his young career, Ryan Williams is just 17 years old. He should be playing high school football. But, instead, he is making key plays on the biggest stage of college football.

Former Alabama coach Nick Saban has also praised Ryan Williams. On 'College GameDay' this week, Saban spoke about the young wide receiver, saying:

"This guy gets to stop speed out of a break as fast as any human being alive, man. You talk about sudden - that is one of the things that I think makes a great player. How fast can you get to stop speed out of a break, and he does it as fast as anyone ever has."

Williams has shown that he is a speedy wide receiver, who is able to make important plays. This speed is incredibly useful, as he uses it to easily get past the opposing defense and get the vital yards needed for the Crimson Tide.

In the four games that Alabama has played so far, Williams has recorded 462 yards and scored five touchdowns in only 16 catches.

He is the team leader in receiving yards (he leads second place by over 300 yards) and has become one of the biggest stars in all of college football.

At the age of 17, it is likely that Ryan Williams is only going to get better as he gets older. This means that Alabama will have a dangerous weapon on its roster for years to come.

Kirby Smart talks about Ryan Williams

It is not just Nick Saban who recognizes the talent and speed that Ryan Williams has. After last week's game against the Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia coach Kirby Smart also spoke about Williams during his post-game press conference, saying:

"I think it's his ability. I mean, I think it's his speed, his ball skills, that make him unique. Not just his footwork. I call it suddenness, twitch quickness. We always refer to it as initial quickness. He has elite initial quickness, but that's not I mean, feet are a part of that, but that's not the only part that makes him special."

Williams has now been recognized by numerous coaches for his speed. For opposition coaches, he may be seen as a threat. The Bulldogs found this out last week, and many other teams could do so in the future.
