Nick Saban’s serious, no-nonsense expression went viral after Alabama’s big win over Georgia, 41-34, on Saturday. Even though he's no longer coaching, Saban looked like he was still on the sidelines after Alabama’s fourth touchdown.
Georgia, ranked No. 2, was down four touchdowns just minutes into the second quarter, but Saban's reaction? Not a smile in sight—he was all business.
As Jalen Milroe ran in a 36-yard touchdown, widening the lead to 27-0, ESPN cameras caught Saban in the stands, looking unamused. Kirk Herbstreit, who was calling the game, guessed that Saban was still “locked in.”
These days, Saban co-hosts ESPN's "College GameDay," which broadcast live from Tuscaloosa for this game. His wife, Ms. Terry, joined as the show’s celebrity guest picker, and—no surprise—both predicted an Alabama win.
Led by QB Milroe, Alabama charged ahead and held strong against Georgia, cementing a thrilling victory over the No. 2 team in the country.

Nick Saban praised Alabama's first-half performance vs Georgia
After seriously watching and taking down notes, Nick Saban then did the halftime show for Alabama-Georgia, where he praised his former team's first-half performance.
"Jalen Milroe had more yards himself than the entire Georgia team. Well, right up until the end. Really good job by Alabama's offensive coaches, they had a gameplan to take advantage of Georgia's defense."
But after looking like it would be a blowout, Saban and the rest of the country witnessed what will likely be remembered as one of the most exciting college football matchups of the season. After trailing 30-7 at halftime, Georgia rallied impressively in the second half, even taking a late lead in the fourth quarter thanks to a 67-yard touchdown reception from Dillon Bell.
Sadly for the Bulldogs, shortly after Bell’s spectacular catch, Alabama's star wide receiver Ryan Williams answered back with a 75-yard touchdown of his own.
With time winding down, Georgia had one last chance to tie the game at 41. Quarterback Carson Beck, who had an impressive day with 439 passing yards and four touchdowns, unfortunately threw his third interception to Alabama defensive back Zabien Brown.
Though Beck and the Georgia offense showed their potential in the second half, it ultimately wasn’t enough as Alabama won 41-34.
