Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders, aka Coach Prime, presided over his last game in charge of his sons, Shilo and Shedeur Sanders, in the Buffs' 36-14 blowout loss to the BYU Cougars in the Alamo Bowl. After the show, Garcia dropped a heartwarming comment on the Instagram post regarding the segment that she did with the charismatic Colorado coach.
Coach Prime reveals why he became a talk show host
Coach Prime has been part of several reality television shows during his career, with the most famous being "Deion and Pilar: Prime Time Love" with his ex-wife Pilar Sanders and "Deion's Family Playbook" with his ex-fiancee Tracey Edmonds.
During a November interview with Essence, the Colorado coach said that being on the "We Got Time" show had been a lifelong idea that was interrupted by his acrimonious divorce from his ex-wife.
"I’ve always endeavored, even before I got into television, the television, sports television, I was interviewed several times," Coach Prime said, "and I was almost about to commit to doing a daily talk show that was going to be shot out in New York.
"But I prided myself on being a real father, a father that won custody of his kids through divorce, and I just wanted to be there for my kids. So, I kind of put it on the back burner because my kids are more important than anything in this world.
"But I always wanted to have the ability to go into people’s homes, their living rooms, and to be able to inspire them, encourage, and motivate them, and just try to enhance their life in some form or fashion by conversation.
"And having a co-host who’s the conversationalist of them all, it’s wonderful because she triggers me and she entices me to be more of who I am."
Coach Prime has said that he's using the "We Got Time Today" show as a means to reach recruits via their parents to show a novel approach to college football recruitment.
