Former Dallas Cowboys wideout Dez Bryant jumped to Deion Sanders' defense that he could achieve success by coaching in the NFL. Bryant also suggested that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones could consider replacing Mike McCarthy with Sanders if Dallas continues to struggle.

On Tuesday, Bryant tweeted to a fan who felt that coaching in the NFL would be different from coaching a college program. The three-time Pro Bowl receiver used Jim Harbaugh as an example to back his initial tweet about Sanders.

"I'll consider if I were Jerry... To me.. Deion Sanders is no different than Jim Harbaugh..Coaches who have played the game..is the new thing!" Bryant tweeted.

Harbaugh led Michigan to the national title earlier this year before signing a contract to coach the LA Chargers. He has helped the Chargers to second in the AFC West with a 7-3 record, on course to reach the playoffs.

Bryant had initially tweeted about the Cowboys' struggles and pointed out that Dallas could be better off rebuilding its roster by picking talent from the 2025 draft pool. He also recommended Sanders for the coaching job.

In a follow-up tweet, Bryant responded to a fan who claimed that Sanders would not want to coach in the NFL.

"Back then…he said he didn't want to coach millionaires…but now he's coaching college kids making millions... It's no difference…lol," Bryant wrote.

The Cowboys (3-7) have had a poor campaign under McCarthy and are virtually out of the playoff race. They lost starting quarterback Dak Prescott to a season-ending hamstring injury.

They last won the Super Bowl in 1996, and Dallas fans have been getting impatient with Jones, who has also often expressed his frustration at the team's lack of success in recent years.

Sanders, on the other hand, has done a fine job at Colorado.

Deion Sanders' No. 16 Colorado (8-2, 6-1 Big 12) has been one of the most improved teams in the country this season. The Buffaloes have a chance of making it to the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff if they win their two remaining regular season games.

In his first season, Sanders led the Buffs to a 4-8 record. However, after his team has shown remarkable improvement this season, Coach Prime has received plenty of praise and plaudits from fans and pundits alike.

Deion Sanders has also drawn attention from top NFL teams and other college football powerhouses. Although Coach Prime has insisted that he wants to continue at Colorado, he is likely to get a few lucrative job offers in the offseason, which could lure him away from the program.
