The North Carolina Tar Heels traveled to Chestnut Hill to take on the Boston College Eagles in a Week 13 Atlantic Coast Conference matchup on Saturday. Both teams are out of the ACC title race, but Boston College is still searching for bowl eligibility, entering the game with a 5-5 record. The Eagles were coming off a 38-28 loss versus SMU.

On the other hand, North Carolina (6-4) has already secured bowl eligibility. The Tar Heels were coming off a 31-24 win over Wake Forest and had won their last three games.

Boston College was quick out the gates, taking a 24-7 lead at halftime. It outscored the Tar Heels 17-14 in the second half, clinching a 41-21 win and becoming bowl-eligible.

North Carolina vs. Boston College: Game Summary

Boston College scored the lone points of the first quarter, kicking a 49-yard field goal to take a 3-0 lead into the second. After forcing a punt, the Eagles capitalized with a 13-play, 66-yard touchdown drive to take a 10-0 lead.

Boston College forced a turnover on downs and scored a second touchdown to take a 17-0 lead over the Tar Heels after a 24-yard touchdown scamper from Johnathan Montague Jr. On the ensuing kickoff, the Tar Heels returned 95 yards to cut the lead to 17-7.

The Eagles forced an interception late in the half and scored the third touchdown to take a 24-7 lead into halftime.

The Eagles scored the lone points of the third quarter, kicking a 27-yard field goal to take a 27-7 lead into the fourth quarter. On the final period's opening drive, Boston College's sophomore defensive back grabbed an interception and returned it 78 yards for a touchdown, giving the Eagles a 34-7 lead.

After forcing a punt on North Carolina’s ensuing drive, Boston College punched another touchdown to take a 41-7 lead with six minutes remaining. North Carolina scored two touchdowns in the game’s waning minutes to cut the deficit to 41-21.
