The Northwestern Wildcats will travel to West Lafayette, Indiana, to take on the Purdue Boilermakers in a Week 10 Big Ten Conference showdown. Northwestern (3-5, 1-4 Big Ten) is coming off two straight losses, including a 14-40 loss to the Iowa Hawkeyes in their last outing.

Purdue (1-6, 0-4 Big Ten) is coming off a 35-0 shutout loss versus the Oregon Ducks in their last game and has lost six consecutive games following their season-opening win.

Northwestern vs. Purdue: Game Summary

After forcing a punt, Northwestern drew first blood with a field goal on the back of a 12-play, 48-yard drive, taking six minutes off the clock and taking a 3-0 lead. The Boilermakers responded with a field goal of their own to cap off a 10-play, 67-yard drive, but Northwestern was quick to strike back with a touchdown drive to take a 10-3 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Northwestern broke a scoring drought that lasted for much of the second quarter thanks to an 11-play, 50-yard touchdown drive capped off by Cam Porter. His effort brought the score to 17-3 with two minutes remaining in the first half.

The Boilermakers responded with a touchdown pass from Hudson Card to Jahmal Edrine just before the half, with the score at 17-10 entering halftime.

After forcing two punts in the third quarter, Purdue finally capitalized, scoring a 24-yard field goal to bring the score to 17-13 with under three minutes remaining, the only points of the third period.

Northwestern scored the first points of the fourth quarter, extending their lead to 20-13 to cap off a 16-play drive. Purdue answered with the first touchdown of the second half, building momentum with a methodical 11-play, 75-yard drive to tie the game at 20-20 with five minutes remaining in the final period.

Northwestern forced a stop in overtime and capitalized with a game-winning touchdown pass to Joseph Himon II.
