Texas Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian had a straight response to Oklahoma safety Billy Bowman's comments on Texas not earning the win and rather the Sooners gave them opportunities gift-wrapped.
Last week's No. 1 Texas vs Oklahoma was a blowout loss, as the Longhorns continue to assert their dominance this season. The No. 1 team blew past the Sooners 34-3 at Cotton Bowl.
After the game, Billy Bowman said:
"We just gift-wrapped them opportunities. We just gave it to them. As a defense, we’re better than that, end of story. We gave it to them. They didn’t earn what they got shortly after that interception."
However, when asked to reply to Bowman's comment, Steve Sarkisian didn't give too much traction with a simple response:
“Not my problem. We won. Next game.”
Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers, who returned from an abdominal injury, finished 20 of 29 for 199 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
Steve Sarkisian keeps cap on celebrations with Georgia showdown ahead
Steve Sarkisian's unit avenged last year's loss in the Red River Rivalry on Saturday, but for the Longhorns, it's just a miniature achievement of what they want to achieve this season.
"Two years ago when we won the Golden Hat, you might have thought we won the Super Bowl," Sarkisian said via ESPN. "This year, it was like, 'Okay, we've got the Golden Hat back. All right, let's put it in the trophy case and let's keep grinding, let's keep going.'
"We enjoyed the win, don't get me wrong. The locker room was fun and all that, but it is almost like our team knows there's more work to do."
While the Longhorns (6-0) seem to be the most unbeatable team in college football, one can say they haven't faced the best of the bunch. The schedule gets tougher for them with Kirby Smart's No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs set to travel to Texas this week.
