Notre Dame is set to open its 2024 college football season on the road on Saturday night. The No. 7 Fighting Irish take on the No. 20 Texas A&M Aggies with kick-off set for 7:30 p.m. ET, with the game being played at Kyle Field and being shown on ABC.

Heading into Week 1, Notre Dame is a three-point road underdog in what should be one of the best games of the week. However, heading into the pivotal matchup at Kyle Field, the Fighting Irish are dealing with some key injuries.

Notre Dame injury report ahead of Week 1

The Fighting Irish have seven players on the injury report ahead of Week 1.

Charles Jagusah, OL

Charles Jagusah is out for the entire 2024 season with a torn pectoral.

Jagusah was projected to start at left tackle and replace Joe Alt, who is off to the NFL, but he suffered the injury in training camp.

“I feel really good about Jagusah,” coach Marcus Freeman said on May 31, via the SouthBend Tribune. “He’s going to be solid at that left tackle position. He’s done a good job. I got to spend a lot of time with him on the scout team last year, and he’s had a great spring.”

Kevin Bauman, TE

Notre Dame tight end Kevin Bauman is doubtful to play in Week 1 with a knee injury.

Bauman is working his way back from a torn ACL last season. In 2022, in his last healthy season, he caught three receptions for 44 yards.

Styles Prescord, OL

Fighting Irish offensive lineman Styles Prescord is out with a shoulder injury.

Prescord was a three-star recruit in the class of 2024.

Tae Johnson, S

Notre Dame safety Tae Johnson is out with a foot injury. Johnson underwent foot surgery to correct the fifth metatarsal injury and will be out for the foreseeable future.
