Riley Leonard was one of the college players invited to the just-concluded Manning Passing Academy camp held on the Nicholls State University campus in Thibodaux, Louisiana, this weekend. The Notre Dame quarterback served as a college counselor at the high school athletes' camp.
Following the conclusion of the camp, which was attended by hundreds of high school players, Leonard did an iconic sign-out on the camera lens. He was one of the college quarterbacks who shone at the camp, which made the signing-out moment an epic one for him.
Riley Leonard shared the signing-out moment on his Instagram page on Sunday following the conclusion of the camp. It was also shared on the official Instagram account of the Manning Passing Academy.
Take a look at the moment he inked the camera lens below.
Riley Leonard won the Air It Out challenge at the camp
Riley Leonard impressed among college quarterbacks who were invited to the 2024 Manning Passing Academy camp. He showed a glimpse of what to expect when he gets to suit up for Notre Dame next season by winning the “Air It Out” challenge at the camp.
A host of top college quarterbacks took part in a challenge that involved throwing deep balls. This included Texas’ Quinn Ewers, Georgia’s Carson Beck, Alabama's Jalen Milroe, Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart and Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel. However, it was Leonard who came out on top.
This obviously offers the quarterback a lot of confidence ahead of the 2024 college football season. He suffered an ankle injury midway through last season while at Duke, which he didn’t recover from till the season ended. He will hope to have a more fulfilled season in 2024.
Riley Leonard set for a new challenge at Notre Dame
Following the conclusion of the 2023 college football season in which he played with Duke, Riley Leonard transferred to Notre Dame. The quarterback is now set for a new challenge in South Bend with the resurgent Fighting Irish.
Notre Dame had its offense relaunched last season by Wake Forest transfer Sam Hartman. The quarterback led the Irish to a 10-3 season, throwing for 2,689 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also scored three rushing touchdowns after carrying the ball for 123 yards in 45 attempts.
Leonard has to take off where Hartman stopped. He holds the responsibility of leading the offense to success in a bid to ensure the Fighting Irish reach the expanded College Football Playoff.
