Notre Dame Fighting Irish recruiting staffer Carter Auman is being targeted for a job with the Wisconsin Badgers, according to reports. CFB reporter John Brice reported that Luke Fickell's Badgers are looking to hire Auman for the Director of Player Personnel job.
According to Auman's LinkedIn, he has been with the Fighting Irish since May 2022 as a recruiting associate. In his job description, Auman says:
"Works with recruiting services at in-person camps to evaluate prospects' physical abilities and determine whether they should continue through the recruiting process. Evaluate the academic fit of prospective players relevant to Notre Dame's standards."
"Assist coaches with the prospect list and maintain the recruiting board, while communicating efforts and creating content across platforms to share with prospects. Create and publish highlight films of recruits' performance Host prospect visitors and families."
Auman has apparently done such a great job that Fickell and Badgers are looking at bringing him in to be their Director of Player Personnel, which would be a promotion.
However, as Brice reports, Notre Dame is working on keeping Auman, which likely would result in a salary increase and a new job title.
In the class of 2024, Auman was part of the Fighting Irish recruiting that ranked 11th overall in the nation, which was headlined by a commitment from five-star defensive lineman Bryce Young.
Luke Fickell and Wisconsin eager for Alabama showdown in 2024
Luke Fickell is set for his second season as the head coach of the Wisconsin Badgers. In 2023, Wisconsin went 7-6, and Fickell is looking to build on that.
The Badgers landed quarterback Tyler van Dyke in the transfer portal to be their starting QB. However, Wisconsin enters 2024 with a tough schedule including a Sept. 14 showdown against Alabama, which Fickell is excited about.
"Obviously, it's daunting sometimes when you keep talking or you hear about it," Fickell said, via SI. "It gives you an opportunity to figure out and measure where you are. I don't know that we could put it in a better spot, to be honest with you, in game three, at home, in an early 11 o'clock kickoff. It's going to be one of those opportunities and we'll find out where we are, and you need that."
Wisconsin will also have notable games against USC, Penn State, Iowa, Oregon, and Nebraska among others.
