The Notre Dame Fighting Irish spring practices are underway, and their spring game is nearly here.
College football teams are preparing for the upcoming season with spring practices, as coaches can implement their system and figure out who will be their starters for the upcoming season.
The Fighting Irish ended last season with a record of 10-3 and beat Oregon State in the Sun Bowl.
Entering the season, Notre Dame will have a new quarterback, as Riley Leonard transferred from Duke. Leonard is still rehabbing his ankle injury. But he says that it's the best he has felt and is building chemistry with his Fighting Irish teammates:
“This is the best my ankle has felt in about six months now,” Leonard said, via UNHD. “Being able to take mental reps at practice has been really cool for me. I’ve been in a similar offense in the past to this one, so through film study, I think I’ll be able to fit right into this offense.
"As long as I can continue to build chemistry off the field with the guys and whenever we get back here in the summer, hopefully, I can utilize that time to throw to the receivers a little more and get more reps with those guys.”
