Ohio State Buckeye fans weren't happy with the College Football Playoff's seeding. The Buckeyes are the No. 8 seed and will face the No. 9 seeded Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Big Ten's Penn State Nittany Lions are the No. 6 seed, despite losing to Ohio State in the regular season. Fans pointed out the perceived unfairness of this

"Ohio State beats Penn State and has to play Tennessee and Oregon the first two games of the college football playoffs. They both have the same amount of losses. Penn State gets to play SMU and Boise State. SMH" the fan said
"Not really .. the seeding was idiotic, and has a lot to do with it .. Oregon goes 13-0 and gets Ohio State or Tennessee as a reward .. Penn St loses to Oregon and gets Smu and Boise ?" Another fan said
"Can’t believe Penn State got this easy of a bye in the first round smh" a third fan said
"I’ll never understand how Penn state ranked ahead of us. We beat them had the same record and had better quality wins…" this Ohio State fan said

These fans are not happy that SMU got into the Playoff in the first place, as they essentially give Penn State a free win

"Alabama should definitely be losing to Penn State right now. That is all." This fan said

Finally, these fans have thought about how to make changes to the playoff seeding

What Happened to Penn State against SMU?

The game that started this debate between Ohio State and Penn State fans was the Nittany Lions matchup with the SMU Mustangs.

Coming into the game, the Nittany Lions were the overwhelming favorite to win, with the Mustangs getting into the College Football Playoff over SEC Powerhouses like Alabama.

The game went as many expected. The Nittany Lions were able to dismantle the Mustangs 38-10 in what was a one-sided affair.

While Penn State quarterback Drew Allar only threw for 127 yards, his team's defense was able to effectively limit SMU's offensive capabilities. The Mustangs ended up turning the ball over three times, with two of these turnovers ending up in the endzone for pick-six touchdowns.

This is exactly what Ohio State fans did not want to see. The team that they defeated earlier in the season easily defeated their opponents. On the other hand, Ohio State may struggle to defeat Tennessee later on this evening.
