Transfer quarterback Will Howard is looking forward to a successful season with the Ohio State Buckeyes. The 22-year-old joined Ryan Day's team following the 2023 season. Despite being in contention with freshman Julian Sayin for the starting QB role, Howard is very likely to be leading the team on the gridiron.

Will Howard is also one of the quarterbacks who attended this year's Manning Passing Academy. During his time at the camp, he opened up about the high expectations he has with the Buckeyes in 2024.

The Ohio State quarterback stated that the ultimate goal this year is to win the national championship. And if they are unable to do so, then it will be a 'bust' campaign for him. Howard believes that the Buckeyes possess all the 'talent' to be able to go on and compete for a national championship.

"For us it's natty or bust," Howard said. "I mean, there is no doubt in my mind. I mean, we have all the talent, we have all of the intagibles I guess. But now we just got to go do it. You know, I'm tired of hearing how talented we are and how good our team is.
"It's about the work ethic and how we go to work every single day and I think we're doing the things that we need to to put ourselves in that position to be there at the end of the year. And now we just got to go do it."

Before joining the Buckeyes, Will Howard spent four seasons with the Kansas State Wildcats. Last season, he helped the Wildcats secure a 7-3 overall campaign and opted out of playing in the Pop Tart Bowl. Howard recorded a total of 2,643 passing yards and 24 TD passes along with 10 interceptions.

Will Howard shares his 'ultimate goal' in his football journey

Will Howard also talked about the 'tough' job of being an Ohio State QB behind the likes of former stars such as C.J. Stroud. He also shared that the 'ultimate goal' for him in his football journey is to go on and be a starting quarterback in the NFL in the near future.

"It is tough. The expectations are higher. But I knew what I was signing up for. I knew that the ultimate goal for me was the NFL and being a starter in the NFL. And you know I knew if I didn't put myself in uncomfortable positions and push myself and you know, put these expectations on myself, I wasn't going to grow."
"Following the footsteps of guys like C.J, and Justing and Dwayne, I mean the succession of quarterbacks there is special and I hope I can carry it on in a good way." (0:50)
