The No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes will face the Northwestern Wildcats in Week 12 at Wrigley Field, the home of the Chicago Cubs, and will kick off at 12 pm ET.
Coming into this game, the Buckeyes have an 8-1 record, while the Wildcats have a 4-5 record.
But both teams have players who are injured. Let's have a look at them.
Ohio State Injury Report
The Buckeyes have seven players on the team's injury report. The notable player on the list this week is tight end Will Kacmarek.
Kacmarek has not played for the Buckeyes since their defeat to the No. 6 Oregon Ducks, but he is still one of Ohio State's best tight ends. He has been dealing with an upper-body injury, and his status is "Questionable" for the game with Northwestern.
Coach Ryan Day said:
"He was out there at practice, certainly very limited right now. But there’s a lot of great work being done there. He’s ahead of schedule, and we’re looking to get him back out to practice next week. But he is at least out there in some individual drills right now."
Along with Kacmarek, the following players are also on the injury report for the Buckeyes:
- Jace Middleton, Tight End (Questionable)
- Calvin Simpson Hart, Cornerback (Questionable)
- Zen Michalski, Offensive Lineman (Questionable)
- Reis Stockdale, Wide Receiver (Questionable)
- Josh Simmons, Offensive Linesman (Out)
- TC Caffrey, Running Back (Out)
Northwestern Wildcats Injury Report
The Wildcats have seven players on the injury report for the game with the Buckeyes. One of these players is veteran linebacker Xander Mueller. A key asset to the struggling Wildcats, Mueller has been out since their defeat to Wisconsin with a lower-body injury.
In the buildup to the Buckeyes game, Wildcats coach David Braun said:
“We are hopeful that Xander will be back. We’ll know more mid-week. There’s enough confidence out of Xander and our team around him — he’s been able to take some walkthrough reps the last couple of days. (He’s) been running on the side … We’re excited about the idea of him being a full participant on Saturday.”
Mueller's status for the game is "Questionable." The Wildcats are also likely to be without an experienced player on offense, with wideout Bryce Kirtz still out with an undisclosed injury.
In addition to these two players, the following are also on the Wildcats' injury report:
- Jack Olsen, Kicker (Questionable)
- Ore Adeyi, Defensive Back (Out)
- Ricky Ahumaraeze, Wide Receiver (Out)
- Richie Hagarty, Offensive Lineman (Out)
- Jack Bailey, Defensive Lineman (Out)
