The Ohio Bobcats played the Miami (OH) RedHawks in the 2024 Mid-American Conference Championship Game on Saturday. The Bobcats finished the regular season with a conference-best 9-3 record, posting a 7-1 record in conference play.
Down the stretch of the season, Ohio rattled off five consecutive wins with a point differential of 189-54. The Bobcats concluded their season with a dominant 42-21 victory over Ball State.
The RedHawks mustered an 8-4 record in the year while also finishing with a 7-1 record versus MAC opponents. Like Ohio, a surge down the stretch of the season put Miami in a position to clinch a spot in the MAC Championship, winning seven consecutive games after a 1-4 start to the season.
These two teams met earlier in the regular season on October 19, with the RedHawks topping the Bobcats 30-20. This time out, the Bobcats maintained control in the first half, taking a 21-3 lead into the locker rooms at halftime.
The Bobcats carried their momentum into the second half to win the 2024 MAC Championship in dominant fashion. Ohio topped the RedHawks 38-3, a shutout in the second half.

Miami kicked things off with a 29-yard field goal on their opening drive, taking a 3-0 lead over the Bobcats. Ohio responded on the ensuing drive with an 11-play, 75-yard drive capped off by a four-yard rushing touchdown from Parker Navarro.
The RedHawks got the ball back but were forced to punt, and Ohio capitalized, marching 82 yards in 18 plays to extend their lead to 14-3 after a second rushing touchdown from Navarro. With four minutes remaining in the first half, Ohio forced a second punt before their offense took over. The Bobcats drove down the field before Navarro connected with Mason Williams for a 21-yard touchdown pass.
With three touchdown drives in the first half, Ohio took a 21-3 lead over Miami into the half.
The second half was all Ohio, as the Bobcats outscored Miami 17-0 in the second half. Ohio opened the second half with a six-play, 75-yard drive capped off by a 25-yard pass from Parker Navarro to Coleman Owen to put the Bobcats ahead 28-3.
The RedHawks were forced to punt on the ensuing drive and Ohio capitalized with a 53-yard field goal to extend their lead to 31-3.
The Bobcats poured on one final scoring drive in the fourth quarter capped off by a 21-yard touchdown scamper from Anthony Tyus to slam the door on Miami, securing a 38-3 win for the Bobcats.
