Jackson Arnold, the rising star quarterback for the Oklahoma Sooners, didn't mince words when discussing the upcoming clash against Brian Kelly’s LSU in Week 12.
Arnold was among the trio of Sooners representing Oklahoma at the 2024 SEC Media Days, alongside linebacker Danny Stutsman and safety Billy Bowman.
He had a lot to say during his interview with Matt Moscona on 104.5 ESPN. When asked about the Thanksgiving weekend matchup in Baton Rouge, Arnold’s enthusiasm was there to be seen.
"Everyone I've talked to today, they ask me the question - 'Which away game are you looking forward to the most?' And my answer, DEATH VALLEY, for sure," Arnold said.
"I mean, that Death Valley at night, you've heard about it. Never played there, I've never been there at night, so I'm super pumped up for that game."
Moscona, ever the seasoned host, cautioned Jackson Arnold with, "Be careful what you wish for." Arnold's response? Pure confidence!
"I mean, just like for the atmosphere, of course. That's going to be sick you know? If we score, they might go quiet. You just love that. It's going to be awesome."
With Arnold’s fiery determination, Week 12 is shaping up to be a thrilling showdown in Death Valley. The Sooners, fresh off a 10-3 season, are ready to bring their A-game to Baton Rouge.
Jackson Arnold looking forward to Jaxson Dart challenge in Week 9
Oklahoma's star quarterback Jackson Arnold has a unique connection to Ole Miss. The former five-star high school prospect was heavily recruited by Ole Miss before choosing the Sooners. During SEC Media Days, he expressed his excitement for the matchup on October 26, stating:
"I'm really excited for that game, they're a really good team. I met Jaxson Dart a couple of weeks ago too. He's a great dude, so I'm super excited to go out there and compete against him and his team."
Ole Miss will clash with Oklahoma for the first time since 1999 in a highly-anticipated Week 9 game at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. This would mark the Sooners' inaugural visit to Oxford, Mississippi. Arnold also shared his affection for Oxford, saying:
"I love Oxford. I visited there a couple of times when Coach Lebby was there. I think it's a really unique place and a really cool stadium."
Adding spice to the matchup, Oklahoma safety Billy Bowman previously aimed at Jaxson Dart, who fired back doubting Bowman's claim about an in-game pick-six.
