The Ole Miss Rebels, led by signal caller Jaxson Dart, have become a hot ticket in next season's college football playoff race. This is due to their ever-improving record under coach Lane Kiffin and the return of one of college football's most talented groups for the upcoming season.
Away from the gridiron, Dart has an overall rating of 90 in the highly anticipated EA Sports College Football 25 game that is set to drop on July 19. His rating ranks him at No. 4 among quarterbacks, behind Colorado's Shedeur Sanders and Georgia's Carson Beck, and No. 73 overall in the game.
During the SEC Media Days, Dart showed his dissatisfaction with the persona's image chosen for him in the game:
"Who's that? Not me."
Jaxson Dart gets high praise from Eli Manning
Last week, Jaxson Dart joined a host of prominent college football quarterbacks, including Texas Longhorns' Quinn Ewers and Alabama Crimson Tide's Jalen Milroe, as camp counselors at Eli Manning's "Manning Passing Academy."
Speaking to a reporter during the Grove's Collection event, Dart received a ton of praise from the two-time Super Bowl champion.
"I want (Dart) to break – he's probably broken all my records – I want him to break all of them," Manning said. "I want him to go have a big year and go get that SEC Championship. I’ve been to games, I’ve seen him briefly, but first time really getting to sit down with him, hang out with him, be on stage, tell some stories.
“And so just enjoy his personality. I was able to take some light-hearted digs at him. He reciprocated and did the same to me, which is fun. That’s what it’s all about. Kind of makes it special for the group."
Manning also commented on the increased expectations for next season placed on his alma mater and how they relate to the Rebels quarterback:
"I've seen the expectations before. It doesn't always work out that well, but I think this year, I hope it's different. I think it's some true excitement for good reasons, and a lot of it is Jaxson Dart, and a lot of it is offensive line, receivers, and talent they have on defense."
Jaxson Dart will have the weight of the fancied Ole Miss Rebels on his shoulders next season as fans and analysts predict the rise of coach Lane Kiffin's team. Lucky for him, he will have one of the most famous quarterbacks to have played the game in his corner.
